In order to reach your goals and maintain , you need to plan, organize, and apply yourself. The list of materials below will help you do just that:
** Materials that every student should bring to class EVERY DAY
-
Your Three Rivers House Daily RED Homework Folder.**
This will be used as your daily take-home assignment folder and must be brought to each class daily. The only thing that should ever be in this folder is one day's work. (It is not a storage shed!)
-
At least one box or set of pencils. **

We will be writing something EVERY DAY. You must bring a pencil to class every single day.
-
Metric Ruler (For homework)
This is Science, so we will ONLY be dealing in the metric system as it is the standard measurement system for ALL science world wide.
-
One Calculator (Optional) This will be used at HOME and school for Math and Science
(Both Mr. Racchini and Mrs. Anderson have class sets of calculators, but you will need your own for homework and the state exams (PSSA and Keystone exams). Please also note that your cell phone calculator will not be allowed to be used during any quiz or test taken at school.)
We are recommending that all Three Rivers House students that choose to purchase a calculator choose the Texas Instruments TI-30XIIS calculator for use this school year. You will be using this type of calculator in both classes, and it has many capabilities that will be useful on the standardized assessments later this year and in your future math and science classes throughout the high school. It is available at Walmart, Target, and Amazon for around $10-20

-
Separate Science Three Ring Binder (Recommend size = 1 ½ to 3 inch)**
It is highly recommended that you have a separate science binder to move all of your "finished" assignments, Class Notes, and Lab reports into to hold onto for the entire year. Remember you will be taking a 100 pt Cumulative final at the end of the school year.
-
1 package of 3 ring binder dividers tabs
It is recommended that you use the divider tabs to keep your papers organized within your binder. You may choose how to label them, but I have given two suggested ways below
1 marked "Weekly Plans"
1 marked "Class Notes"
1 marked "Resources"
1 marked "Graded Homework"
1 marked "Lab Sheets"
or
1 marked "Unit 1: Exploring Science"
1 marked "Unit 2: Data Analysis"
1 marked "Unit 3: Measurement"
1 marked "Unit 4: Density"
1 marked "Unit 5: States Of Matter"

1 Book Cover
Our current text book is still an excellent resource for our curriculum. However, since it was published in 2011, some books are showing some signs of wear and tear. To help protect these valuable resource and prolong their usage, we do require that all books are covered. (Please be aware that if you are going to get the stretchable book covers – please make sure to choose the covers for 9” x 11” Jumbo Textbooks)
Your book will be needed throughout the year, and you will be expected to bring your book to class only on the days when we are using it.
(All students will also have access to an online version of the book for home use.)

No one will be permitted to return to their lockers for missing materials once class starts. If you fail to bring any of these materials, it will be recorded that you were not prepared for class, and you will lose your preparation points for that day.
