Students must maintain their eligibility for all Extra Privileges! Read below to learn more about our how to maintain your eligibility for all extra privileges.

Types of Extra Privileges
Some field trips and house activities are designed to be an extension of a topic(s) from one of your Middle School classes. Because these activities are considered part of your class, ALL students are automatically eligible for these activities. However teachers and administration can still revoke a student's eligibility if the student acquires too many behavioral punishments (detentions/ suspensions) or some other appropriate reason.
Academic activities:
Some field trips and house activities are designed to be a reward for students that have maintained positive behaviors in and out of the classroom. Students can lose their eligibility for these types of activities by not maintaining passing grades, having too many absences and missing work, acquiring too many behavioral punishments (detentions/ suspensions). The house teachers and administration will determine if the student has maintained his/her eligibility.
Reward activities:

Eligibility Information
Eligibility Information
All of our field trips and extra special activities, like the ones mentioned above, will require each student to maintain his/her eligibility. As mentioned above, your eligibility can be revoke after an evaluation by teachers and administrations. Some of the reasons why you may be removed from participating in an extra activity include but is not limited to...
Misbehavior during a previous activity / Field Trip
We will travel far from our comforting walls of Franklin Regional Middle School, and we will not tolerate any irresponsible behavior from any student. We have denied students the right to join us at Kennywood in the past. Behavior that is determined to be inappropriate, disrespectful, or dangerous during a reward activity, school activity, or field trip could cause you to be removed from future activities. Please use some common sense and act responsible on all Field Trips and during all extra activities. You may take this paragraph as your warning for your behavior on our field trips.
Excessively
Late and/or Absent
Since these are EXTRA activities, it is important to complete all of the required activities leading up to it. Students with too many absences or tardies may be removed from field trip eligibility because they might have missed important instructions, safety guidelines, or preparation activities. Being present and on time helps ensure that everyone understands what to expect and how to stay safe. If a student isn’t consistently in school, it can be harder to guarantee they’re ready for the extra activity.
Behavioral Punishments
Field trips and extra activities require students to follow rules, stay safe, and represent the school positively. If a student has too many detentions or suspensions, it may show a pattern of behavior that could disrupt the trip or put others at risk. For that reason, students with repeated disciplinary issues will be reviewed by teachers and administration and may be removed from field trip eligibility to help ensure a safe and respectful experience for everyone.
Failure to meet Classroom and House expectations
Field trips are designed to extend learning beyond the classroom, and students who attend need to show they’re ready to benefit from that experience. If a student consistently fails to meet classroom expectations such as earning poor grades, leaving assignments incomplete, or not following school policies like appropriate technology and cell phone use, it may indicate that they’re not fully prepared to participate in a focused and respectful way. To ensure that field trips remain safe, educational, and enjoyable for everyone, students must demonstrate responsibility in both their academic work and classroom behavior. Those who do not may be removed from eligibility until they show improvement.
